The Department is monitoring following function to achieve it's goal :-

• Policy formulation with regard to Law and order in the State

• Monitoring of Law & Order and crime situation in the State.

• Formulation of crime control strategies, including economic offences.

• Issue of Arms license.

• Human resource management by man power Planning, training. discipline and control.

• Budget formulation, sanction and expenditure control.

• Monitoring of Cases Referred  by National Human Rights Commission and state human right commission.

• Policy formulation for the optimal utilization of resources of U.P. Fire Services.

• To assess the security requirements of VVIPs/VIPs and others.

• Prison administration.
